Learning the game of Craps can be no doubt challenging but if you stick to the basics first you’ll be well on your way to understanding all the other bets in the future. Master these few simple bets and you could also be putting some extra cash in your pockets too! Below we’ve listed some of the easiest bets to learn, play and win with in the great game of online craps!
The so called Pass Line Bet – This is one of the easiest and safest bets on the Craps table. The Pass Line bet offers a nice house edge of 1.14%, which is very small compared with other bets on the Craps table and in other casino games. The Pass Line bet begins at the start of a round. You will know it is the start of a new round because there will be a black marker on the table reading ‘Off’, this is when you can lay your chips on the table. The shooter will then roll the dice (called the Come Out Roll) to establish a point – the number that comes up on the roll. A 2, 3 or 12 rolled means the Pass Line bet loses whereas a 7 or 11 would win you even money. Any other number that is rolled becomes the Point. The Pass Line bet stays in play until either someone rolls the Point or a 7. If the point is rolled before a 7, the Pass Line bet wins again but once a 7 is rolled you lose.
The Don’t Pass Line Bet – This bet is similar to the Pass Line bet but it is reversed. If the Come Out roll is a 2 or 3, you win, if it’s a 7 or 11 you lose. In addition, rolling a 12 would be a tie, rolling a 7 before the point would be a win whereas rolling the point before the 7 would mean you lose.
Laying Odds – You can play this bet at the same time as the Pass/Don’t Pass Line or Come/Don’t Come bet. This bet means you are essentially multiplying your Pass Line bet (3-5 times). Laying Odds bets depend on the Point number that was rolled so if the Point is a 4 or 10 your odds on this bet would be 2:1. This is also a great bet because the casino holds no big house edge! |
